Chernobyl leads Bafta TV nominations


The list is in! Here are all the shows and stars up for awards this year…

Historical drama Chernobyl has received 14 nominations for this year’s Bafta TV and TV Craft Awards.

The two ceremonies will take place behind closed doors later this month, having been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Netflix’s lavish royal series The Crown has received seven nominations, including a Best Support Actress nod for Helena Bonham Carter – though Olivia Colman has not made the Best Actress shortlist.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s second and final series of Fleabag has received six nods, as has Girl/Haji.

Shane Meadows’ The Virtues has been nominated for five accolades, with Stephen Graham up for Best Actor, as has the BBC’s hit adaptation of His Dark Materials.

The nominations for Bafta Must See Moment, the award that is voted for by the audience at home, were announced earlier this week

Arya killing the Night King in Game of Thrones, Nessa proposing to Smithy in Gavin & Stacey, and Love Island’s Casa Amor recoupling are among the six programmes the public can vote for.
