Friday Night Dinner star Tamsin Greig paid tribute to late co-star Paul Ritter, revealing she joined the Channel 4 sitcom after hearing he was cast

Writing in The Guardian today following the death of Ritter, who died Monday at the age of 54, Greig said he will be “remembered as a brilliantly inventive acting chameleon”

“When I was told they wanted him to play Martin Goodman in the pilot episode of Friday Night Dinner, I said, ‘You get it and I’m in’

“Not only did Paul play the part, he far exceeded everyone’s expectations – surprising, versatile, weird, rooted in the clearest truth, and still totally hilarious.””

She added: “The world is a less brilliant place without Paul Take it easy, my friend You are loved deeply”
