Outgoing CNN presenter Brooke Baldwin leaves Liberal Network this month and voices grievances over lack of opportunities for CNN women on the way

Indeed, CNN is the only major cable news network in the United States without a prime-time host and many of the network’s top executives are men. Baldwin said she sees the landscape change as more women appear on cable news, but mostly she has teamed up with men throughout her career.

Baldwin, who was taken off the airwaves and replaced by Jake Tapper in the month leading up to the 2020 election, was then asked what male leadership means at CNN when it comes to reporting important stories for the women

“I know I personally fight for women’s stories,” Baldwin said, noting that she left a poster of her CNN series “American Women” hanging in her office to remind her that she was able to finish the project

She said CNN “bit by bit” started empowering women, citing digital and news gathering leaders as examples

“It’s getting better, but we still have a way to go,” she said “I want more women in the room”

In 2018, Hollywood trade publication “TheWrap” analyzed the lineup for the week on various networks and found that CNN didn’t have as many female anchors as it did competitors

“CNN has significantly fewer women in visible on-air roles than Fox News or MSNBC,” TheWrap reported

During the interview, Baldwin also praised the outspoken Liberals Gloria Steinem, Stacey Abrams, Ava DuVernay and Megan Rapinoe as “women pioneers” that she interviewed Baldwin has long presented himself as a liberal despite being referred to as a direct news anchor by CNN, but she appears to be letting her guard come out.

Baldwin announced in February that she would be quitting CNN after 13 years Her exit was announced last fall after sending cryptic messages on Instagram suggesting she was being forced off the airwaves, in the wake of the Network announcement, Tapper to take over niche ahead of 2020 presidential election
