CALGARY –
Three city-owned golf courses opened for the season in Calgary this week with two more expected to open in the coming days

The 18-hole par three courses are now open at McCall Lake, as is the 18-hole course at Shaganappi Point

The 18-hole Maple Ridge course and the nine-hole Shaganappi Valley course are scheduled to open on April 12 and tee times can be booked from Thursday

“The city’s other courtyards will reopen depending on weather conditions, course conditions and in accordance with public health orders,” a statement said.

“The City is very pleased to reopen our golf courses for the year,” says Greg Steinraths, Regional Director of Operations at Calgary Recreation

“We know how many Calgarians are looking forward to reconnecting this year, and we’re happy to be able to offer another safe and healthy way to be active during the warmer months.”

Officials say the seasonal reopening complies with provincial health rules and measures have been put in place to increase golfers’ safety

These include allowing only pre-booked play, no club rentals, limits on gatherings and the use of equipment like electric carts and ball wash racks

Are the golf courses open, are the golf courses open
