During his appearance on This Morning on Wednesday, the delighted Belfast-born TV presenter revealed his son Declan will be fathering his wife Jenny, with the baby expected in July

He said: “Thank you for bringing so much joy and happiness into our lives in these miserable times”

Eamonn has three children Declan, Rebecca and Niall with ex-wife Gabrielle and Jack, 19, with wife Ruth Langsford

He said: “It has been a very difficult year for so many people, there is not a lot of good news and it has been a very difficult week.

Eamonn then showed a photo of his eldest son Declan (32) and his wife Jenny, while saying, “They just announced that me, along with Valerie and Robin, Jenny’s mom and dad and Gabrielle, Declan’s mom – we’re all gonna be grandparents

“Can you seriously believe that I’m going to be a grandfather?” before joking that he’s way too young

While sending kisses, Ruth added: “Declan and Jenny we are so happy for you, a lot of love for you is amazing” and revealed how moved Eamonn was

Eamonn and Ruth joked that she would be the ‘bad mother-in-law’, with the North Irish broadcaster suggesting to call herself ‘daddy’

Eamonn left fans spellbound as he took to social media on Tuesday night to let users know something exciting was about to happen

He said, “Can you keep a secret? You have something to say to each other at 11 o’clock on Wednesday #ThisMorning Hope you will be happy for me because I’m on the Moon That’s same, for the moment, which made me forget my #ChronicPain – yes it’s so good “

One user replied, “Are you the next talented reporter to join the wonderful line-up on @GBNEWS?” with another asking if he was going to be a grandfather for the first time

The broadcaster also shared his health battle with chronic pain after injuring his back a few months ago, but still doesn’t know the source of the problem

He informed fans on Twitter and said: “Physio hurts this morning I mean really hurt Anyway, on the positive side it definitely woke me up”

Their Friday slot on the ITV daytime show was replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary in December after 15 years

The pair previously featured This Morning Monday through Thursday during school holidays as well as Fridays
